HOMELESS OUTREACH
Where Are You Outreach
Homelessness has become a national epidemic in the United States. According to the White House there are over a half million US Citizens deemed homeless with nearly 35% unsheltered or living in places deemed uninhabitable or condemned. Some are living in cars, under bridges, and sidewalks. This community of lives can range from children to widowed citizens. In every major city there is a need for thousands of lives to be changed through action, awareness, and agape love.
Titia Owens, Where Are You? Outreach Founder, created a plan to bring awareness to homelessness through ministry by exposing the severe crisis families and individuals are in. Her primary goal is to shelter the homeless. Her talent and gift as a bridge in the community coupled with her skills as interior designer has opened the door to opportunities to redesign spaces with organizations who desire to impact homelessness in a unique way.
As City Council Appointee to the City of Dallas Homeless Commission, Titia is able to share her personal testimony of homelessness, short and long term remedies, and strategies to clothe, feed, and hire those who are homeless. In 2018 she established her first ever HOMELESS EXPO servicing 500+ families in the DFW Metroplex in connecting 250 resource providers connecting each family with resources that include but not limited to food, healthcare, housing, transportation, and job opportunities. Titia is indeed blazing the trail to eradicate homelessness in the Dallas community.
Titia realizes she may not be able to eliminate homelessness, but is passionate about people knowing that they are not forgotten and that they are loved. She is willing to share her influence to get others involved in solving the problem. As a homeless activist she is able to educate others on all methods of giving. Whether it be donating essentials, distribution to temporary shelters to corporate fundraising, Titia is here to serve.
